Learn To Skate

 The Ice Box Figure Skating Program is affiliated with the United States Figure Skating Association. Our certified staff’s teaching method is based on the USFSA basic skills program. Group lessons are for boys and girls ages 3 and up. An annual $15.00 USFSA individual membership fee will be assessed per skater with the first registration of the season.  Our learn to skate program is an excellent introduction to ice-skating. Our coaches are registered with the United States Figure Skating Association and have backgrounds with hockey and figure skating. Skaters will learn, in a fun and exciting way, the basic skills needed to enjoy all aspects of skating, whether it is competitive figure skating, or just for fun. 

Students should dress in warm loose clothing that will not restrict their movements along with a pair of gloves. Protective headgear is strongly recommended for all beginner skaters. Skate rental is available if a student doesn’t have his or her own skates. Skaters should arrive at the rink 15 minutes before class. All registered students will receive a pass, valid throughout the session, which will enable them to attend free sessions of open skating to practice their skills. Pass does not include skate rental.         

Each 7-week session will consists of a 30 minute on ice instruction. Testing will be done on the sixth week.

Ice Show

This year’s ice show will be held on June 1^st and 2^nd.  Skaters must participate in sessions 3, 4, and 5 in order to be in the show.  Tryouts for solo spots will be held in February, times and dates will be posted.
